Html Etc: Mo Complexity Mo Problems

after years of not doing any web development i have in the last year found myself repeatedly building websites. i got a D in html decades ago because i refused to learn css, preferring hard HTML 4.0 “Cougar” with a sprinkling of javascript. so last year when i was asked to do some webstuff i turned to notepad++ and made this silly little accordion thing so people at the conference i was helping out with could scan a QR code and get the speaker bios on their phones.today, a year later, i am working on a website for my business and am using VScode and struggling with vue and have even less idea what i am doing: it took most of a day messing with npm for me to get the server up.and with more complexity comes more problems: looks like vue template compiler has been deprecated we are vulnerable to xss (CVE-2024-6783).not a good look for a cybersecurity education firm’s website, but at least npm audit exists and alerts us to some of these holes so we can try and plug them.
