Hestia: The Monidoor

Image Descriptionwhen my dad first got sick and i was taking care of him i bought a whiteboard calendar to put on the door to the basement across from the kitchen table to keep track of doctors’ appointments and pill routines and in the years since it has become an integral part of the daily scheduling of the house. my hand writing is atrocious so erica was quick to take up the mantle of calendar scribe and secretary, but this summer i felt like it was time our calendar took a step into the 21st century.
Image Description we have a bunch of older unused computers laying around so i took my dad’s old thinkpad worked some magic over it, named it hestia after the greek goddess of the hearth, home, family, and civics, found a used 24" touch screen on B&H, took advantage of an oddly placed power outlet on the basement stairs and a broom closet built into the door, and enlisted krisztian to help me get to the point of no return with the jigsaw the morning before he caught his flight home to budapest. so with no further ado, i am proud to present to you the next generation in household and family organization: hestia: the monidoor.
